Operation Cizire Storm: 1776 jihadists were killed in 20 days

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have announced that as part of the Operation Cizire Storm the town of Al-Behra was liberated and 1776 ISIS members were killed in the last 20 days.

The Press Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has published a report on the latest developments in the Operation Cizire Storm to liberate Deir ez-Zor territory from ISIS.

Accordingly, the town of Al-Behra was liberated. In the course of the battles with militias of the Islamic State, 1776 ISIS members have been killed in the past 20 days.

The statement by SDF Press Center is as follows;

"As part of the Operation Cizire Storm liberation offensive, fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces, together with the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, liberated the town of Al-Behra which was serving ISIS as an important coordination center for attacks on civilians. There were numerous ammunition warehouses in the town.

In the course of our operations, IS positions outside the town were effectively targeted. Attacks by the ISIS members were responded with resistance.

Our fighters have dealt heavy blows to the ISIS gangs during the 20-day battles. Despite widely laid land mines, the region was liberated. A total of 1776 jihadists have been killed in the clashes. During the liberation operation of Al-Behra, which was supported by the international coalition from the air, the following weapons and armaments were confiscated:

- 16 mortar bombs

- 17 car bombs

- 8 machine guns (DShK)

- 14 DShK-mounted vehicles

- 24 excavator vehicles

- 3 bomb loading centers

- 2 armored panzer vehicles

- 5 reconnaissance drones

- 7 motorcycles loaded with ammunition

- 1 rocket

- 2 BMB type vehicles

- 12 military vehicles

- 3 vehicles loaded with ammunition

- 1 SPG-9 land vehicle

The operations launched by Deir ez-Zor Military Council to liberate the countryside of Deir ez-Zor are ongoing."
