Three HPG (People’s Defense Forces) guerrillas are said to have lost their life in an operation the Turkish army carried out close to the area of Cum Strait Hill ( Cum Boðazý Tepesi) in Lice district of Diyarbakýr yesterday.

According to allegations, the operation was carried out with the use of dozens of armed vehicles and hundreds of gendarmerie and special operation teams at around 21.20 last night. Clashes continued till morning hours in the area which was also exposed to intense bombardment with military helicopters. Bodies of three people who are claimed to be HPG guerillas were brought to Lice State Hospital at early morning hours today. Following preliminary autopsy performed here, bodies have allegedly been taken to Malatya Forensic Medicine Institution.
