A drone attack targeting a graduation ceremony at the Homs Military Academy in central Syria resulted in at least 112 deaths.
On 5 October, a drone attack was carried out during the graduation ceremony at the Homs Military Academy.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, 112 people, including 21 civilians, were killed and at least 120 people were injured in the attack.
Syrian Minister of Health Hassan al-Ghabbash said in his first statement that 80 people died and around 240 people were injured.
No one claimed responsibility for the attack. Following the drone attack, government forces bombed the Idlib areas occupied by gang groups supported by the invading Turkish state. According to the Observatory, 8 people died and 30 people were injured in the bombardment.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated that he was "deeply concerned" after the attack in Homs. Guterres' spokesperson, Stephane Dujarric, said that the Secretary-General was "deeply concerned about the information" regarding the bombardment carried out by the invading Turkish state against Northern and Eastern Syria.
