The AKP/Palace regime continued detentions as part of the political genocide practices after Newroz. As the referendum draws near, the operations are picking up pace. 11 people in Dersim have been detained in house raids and 20 people have been detained in Antalya after Newroz celebrations.
DERSİM
Simultaneous raids were carried out in several homes in Dersim. Radio Munzur Executive Editor Mehmet Çağrı, DBP provincial branch administrators Ufuk Sünger and Yaşar Ateş, shopkeepers Ali Ülfer and Ayhan Çelik, MEYADER (shut down by statutory decree) Chairperson Hayrettin Baba, Co-Deputy Mayor İbrahim Kasun, municipality workers Berna Çelebi, Nazlı Çelik, Ayten Kordu and Bedri Akyol, all removed from duty, were detained.
Co-Deputy Mayor Hüseyin Tunç who was removed from office and 3 other people had their homes searched.
11 people were taken to the Province Security Directorate.
ANTALYA
The people retaliated with stones when the police attacked Newroz celebrations in Antalya. 20 people were detained in the wake of the clashes. The detainees were taken to Hal Police Station under the Kepez District Security Directorate.
