Over two thousand people detained in Iran and Rojhilat

Amdi continued popular protests against the regime, Iranian forces detained more than two thousand people during house raids.

People took to the streets in 70 cities of Iran and Rojhilat (Eastern Kurdistan) to protest poverty and repressive policies of the Iranian regime for days.

In an attempt to suppress the mass protests and prevent the people’s demand from being heard, Iranian forces conducted massive raids on the homes of demonstrators and detained large numbers of people.

According to Iranian Human Rights Organisation Centre, more than two thousand people have been detained as a result of house raids by the regime forces during the past 10 days.

Local sources report that 100 students from the University of Tehran have been taken into custody. Detention of 90 students was also confirmed by Iranian officials.

Iranian Human Rights Organisation Centre stated that Iranian forces detained around a thousand people in Ahwaz and its districts and towns, 300 in Tabriz, 500 in Tehran, 138 in Meshed, 100 in Isfahan, 50 in Keshan, 40 in Ardalan and 20 in Karaj.
