Özgür Güneş Radio shut down in Malatya

Özgür Güneş Radio which broadcasts in Malatya province was shut down as a result of a statutory decree issued during the State of Emergency.

Özgür Güneş Radio is among the banned television networks and radio stations according to Statutory Decree No.668 published after the declaration of the State of Emergency and was raided by the police yesterday evening. Police stopped the broadcast and made an inventory list, then sealed the building.

The radio has been broadcasting in Malatya province mostly in Kurdish and had never received any fines from RTÜK (Higher Board of Radio and Television).
