Papers discuss Court's hearing of MIT officials

Yeni Þafak paper Ankara journalist Abdülkadir Selvi remarked that the prosecutor’s call to MIT (National Intelligence Organization) officials to testify was a message to PM Erdoðan.

In his column ‘War among supporters of military operations and dialogue’, Selvi said that; “This call for the testimony of MIT officials points out to the war within the state about a solution to the Kurdish problem.”

According to Selvi, a war has broken out between the group who think that the Kurdish problem can’t be solved without dialogue and negotiation and the other group who defend both negotiations and operations.

Selvi states that both groups, conductors of operations and dialogue, are however of the same mind that negotiations should begin after having PKK and KCK lose their domination in psychological area.

“This process could reach a very dangerous stage unless the PM gets his hands on it”, warned Selvi and pointed out that this call was made to take the testimony of Turkey’s will that wanted to solve the Kurdish problem through dialogue.

Hürriyet paper Ankara journalist Metehan Demir, speaking to CNN Türk about the subject, said the followings; “Some circles in Ankara see this development as the rehearsal of calling PM to testify as he is the one who gave the instruction of MIT officials’ meeting with PKK authorities. This event was met with a great indignation in Ankara.”

“What is intended to be prevented?” asked Milliyet paper writer Hasan Cemal and added; “It is possible that some centers want to foresee the possibility of a dialogue and peace process in the future. If this is not the case, I wonder what could ever require the prosecutor’s call to MIT Undersecretary Hakan Fidan, former undersecretary Emre Taner and deputy undersecretary Afet Güneþ?”
