People assemble for the opening of guerrilla cemetery in Dersim

While the people started to gather for the opening of the cemetery of Doctor Baran and Besê, in Dersim, police and soldiers have once again closed the Erzincan-Dersim road to traffic today.

A cemetery has been constructed to commemorate Martyr Baran and Martyr Besê, two guerrillas of the ARGK and HPG who lost their lives at different times in the Pülümür district of Dersim. While the people started to gather for the opening ceremony, Turkish soldiers and police closed the Erzincan-Dersim road to traffic. Many armoured vehicles and water cannon were deployed in front of the ‘Dersim Cem Evi’ (Alevi place of worship) by the Turkish police, while Turkish soldiers closed the road to traffic in Marçık village with dozens of armoured vehicles.

Hundreds of people wanting to attend the opening ceremony of the cemetery in Pülümür gathered in Sanat street despite all the obstruction of the police. While the people are continuing to gather there, it is reported that in the next few hours, the people will start to march towards the cemetery.
