The Kurdish people who departed to join to the Newroz celebration in Metina area of the Medya Defence Zones were prevented from crossing into the area by the KDP peshmergas. However, the people have achieved to cross into Metina transcending the blockade of the peshmergas.

People from North and South Kurdistan on their way to Metina to join the Newroz celebration were stopped this morning by the peshmerga forces affiliated to KDP at the Dıhe check points in Zaxo and were not allowed to go further. Reacting strongly against this obstruction, the people have crossed the checkpoints and continued their way to Metina.

The peshmergas said they had an order not to allow the crossings.

The Newroz celebration in Metina area of Medya Defence Zones is continuing at the moment with the participation of hundreds of people reaching the area.
