As the resistance vigil along the Suruç-Kobanê border continues for one month now despite all the repression and hindrances by Turkish security forces, hundreds of people from across North Kurdistan are flocking to the village of Mehser where soldiers brutally attacked the people late yesterday evening and night.
In response to the attacks by Turkish troops aiming to empty the border area, putting forward the ongoing mortar attacks of ISIS gangs as an excuse, the people remain determined to not to leave the border as long as ISIS attacks on Kobanê continue.
Strongly condemning the violent intervention by soldiers which left DBP (Party of Democratic Regions, formerly BDP) Central Executive Council (MYK) member Semra Demir seriously injured, people in hundreds started to flock to the border village as of early morning today.
Peace Mothers Assembly member Müzbet Tekin who was among the mass attacked by soldiers yesterday said she will not leave the resistance vigil until Kobanê is cleansed of gangs and liberated.
Tekin said the violent attacks of security forces on the people joining the border vigil aimed to weaken the resistance, and called on all Kurdish people to come to the border, saying; "The people enjoying their democratic rights are being subject to violence here every day. On the other side of the border, our youths and people are being massacred by ISIS gangs. Those remaining silent in face of all these shouldn't call themselves human. Should we happen to leave the border, the AKP will have the opportunity to provide the gangs with all kinds of support."
Various groups from across Turkey and North Kurdistan are expected to join the vigil in the village of Mehser today. The vigil in the Miseynter village to the east of Suruç is also continuing.
