Speaking to ANF, citizens in Dersim said they did not trust the AKP's 'Alevi Initiative', nor the 'PM aus Dersim' propaganda of the CHP ahead of the general elections to take place on June 7. They told that they will vote for the HDP in the upcoming general elections to be held on 7 June in Turkey and North Kurdistan.
Ozan Çil, an inhabitant of Dersim province, stressed that the upcoming election was by no means an ordinary one, adding that the election would take place between mono-type system parties and the HDP which embraces all communities and circle. Çil remarked that the peoples of Turkey will strengthen their existence themselves by voting for the HDP on 7 June.
Gülseven Yıldız, another person from Dersim, stated that the women of the region have long been suppressed because of the three identities they bear - being woman, Alevi and from Dersim -, adding that; “The HDP isn't pushing us aside. Furthermore, it is revealing that hope, power and potential for a change lies in us ourselves. HDP is the only party to truly represent us in the parliament.”
Yıldız said they do not find the 'Alevi Initiative' of the AKP reliable, nor the CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu who -she said- wanted to divert the people with the lie that 'PM will be an Alevi from Dersim', criticizing the CHP leader for not even saying that he is from Dersim.
Another woman Nadide Doğmaz pointed out that the HDP was the only power to change the fate of the country and the monist mindset of impositions, recalling of the basic complaints of the Alevi community which include compulsory religious classes, the education system and the attitude against women.
Hasan Kaplan also stated that HDP represented the Alevi and all other communities and embraced all the ethnic, religious and cultural communities. Kaplan added that they too would vote for the HDP for fraternity, justice and a free country.
Kaplan says the deputies of the HDP in the parliament will be the representatives of the oppressed in the country, of Alevis, Arabs, Armenians, Syriacs and Assyrians.
