Thousands of Kurdistan citizens had walked he border with the Kurdistan Federal Region to reclaim the bodies of the PKK guerrillas who lost their life in the clashes of some days ago in Ortaköy (Aroþ) and Yemiþli (Mergeh) rurals of Uludere/Sýrnak. Spending the night at Bilican hill just on the border with Kurdistan Federal Region, the people have crossed the border in the morning to look for the bodies of guerrillas who lost their life and were abandoned in the clash area. Hundreds of young and old people, women and children found the bodies of three HPG guerrillas fifty meters apart.
Attacks on the people carrying the bodies
Taking the bodies to shoulders and turning back, the citizens carrying the bodies were exposed to the attack of soldiers and village-guards. Moving slowly with the slogan "Þehîd namirin" against the rain of stones and rocks rolled by soldiers and village-guards from a high hill, the citizens are constantly stopped by military barricades. While clashes are lived between soldiers and citizens, three bodies are being brought on shoulders to the people waiting in front of Bilican Border Police Station.
BDP members waiting in front of police station
On the other hand, a large number of people, including Labour, Freedom and Democracy Block candidates Hasip Kaplan, Gülten Kýþanak, Siirt Mayor Selim Sadak, BDP Co-Chair Filiz Kocali and Diyarbakir Metropolitan Mayor Osman Baydemir, are waiting for the bodies in front of Bilican Police Station.
While tension continues in the region, a remarkable military shipment is transferred by air to the region. In addition to the barricades made by hundreds of soldiers at the entry and exit of the Bilican hill, the points of entry and exit of two villages have completely been halted. It is reported that even the people of the nearby villages aren’t allowed to take their patients to the hospital.
A body taken by soldiers
While the body of a guerrilla found by the people late last night in the clash area was taken to Sýrnak State Hospital’s morgue, it has been reported that a body found by soldiers in the same region is kept at Ortaköy Police Station.
