PIK: Peace passes through negotiation with Öcalan, not isolation

The PIK president stressed that if there is no peace, Kurds will continue to fight for their rights and called on European and world countries to act now.

Hikmet Serbilind from PIK visited hunger strikers in Strasbourg on their 42nd day of fast to end isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Speaking on behalf of Islamiya Kurdistan Party (PIK), Hikmet Serbilind praised the price paid by hunger strikers.

Serbilind emphasized that PIK valued everyone who served and paid a price for the cause of Kurdistan and gave the example of Maide sura from the Quran.

Serbilind underlined the importance of human life and said that tens of millions of Kurds live in captivity and have paid heavy prices.

The PIK president remarked that the hunger strike campaign had begun since the Turkish state left no option to Kurds and added that dialogue with Öcalan is necessary. “If they want peace and solution, these pass through Imrali. Mr. Öcalan is the leader of this movement, and peace can only pass through him.”

Call to European countries

The PIK president stressed that if there is no peace, Kurds will continue to fight for their rights and called on European and world countries to act now. He said that it is thanks to Kurds and their fight against the Islamic State that European countries are safe today.

Koç: We won’t run away from sacrifice
