Police attack BDP march: MP Bayýndýr injured

The demonstration organized by Silopi BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) has been brutally attacked by police. MP Sevahir Bayýndýr has been seriously injured in the clashes. The police used gas bombs, water cannons, and heavily baton charged the over ten thousand people who turned out on the streets of Silopi.

BDP MPs Sevahir Bayýndýr, Hasip Kaplan ve Hamit Geylani were among dozens of BDP politicians at the march. People were chanting slogans against recent execution in Iran, and against the ongoing military operations against Kurdish guerrilla. MP Sevahir Bayýndýr has been taken to Silopi hospital and her conditions are said to be serious.

According to local sources clashes are still going on.
