Police brutalize protestors in Gezi Park -FLASH
Istanbul police have violently attacked people at Gezi Park in Taksim on Saturday, reportedly wounding dozens of people in the area. The attack, which people in the area say is the most brutal one of the last two weeks, came soon after Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan warned protestors to leave the park until tomorrow morning.
According to the reports posted on social media by the protestors in the area, the intense tear gas attack also targeted the Divan Hotel which has opened its door to the protestors and is being used as emergency response spot.
Riot police teams have surrounded the Taksim Square, not letting people enter the square. Tents in Gezi park have all been removed by the police.
