As the resistance of Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons in a massacre organized by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and Ferit Şenyaşar, who was injured in the same attack, continued in front of Urfa Courthouse on its 73rd day. The woman and her son were detained by police using violence.
In her speech at the protest Emine Şenyaşar said, "Those who remain silent on this massacre will surely pay a price. The police take us out of the courthouse. All records related to the massacre are deleted. My children were deliberately murdered. How on earth could someone be murdered in a hospital? Nobody should be a partner to this massacre. We want justice to be served.”
Ferit Şenyaşar said, "The Urfa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is committing a crime by casting a veil over this file. We will not leave until justice is secured. We risked everything. We will be here until justice is served."
Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar were detained by the police in a violent way after the protest.
A video has been released on the family's social media account and the following statement was made: "While we were continuing our justice vigil, my mother and I were detained unlawfully. The police put us into a police vehicle in front of the courthouse and we are kept waiting inside the vehicle. We demanded justice, not cruelty. Is this the justice that we deserve?”
