The last incident in Erzurum, where police caused problems at opening of HDP election office

The electoral activities of the HDP in Kurdistan are being contrasted by repression and police obstacles and fake problems.

All the institutions of the state are using every kind of obstacles and 'bans' to make it difficult for people to participate and join HDP rallies and meetings.

Among the incidents reported, that of HDP Erzurum candidate who wanted to open an election office in Hınıs. Mehmet Kasım Fırat said that the police put every kind of obstacles at the opening.

Fırat said: "The security says to us, 'Do not stop on the right, do not go to the left, go to the balconies, do not use the microphone.' "

Basically, said Fırat "we were prevented from doing anything. The police only goal was to stir up tension and use violence. We are not frightened - the HDP candidate said - but we know the damage this does to people".
Managing to address the crowd, Fırat said: "We are strong, we take our strength from our rights, we carry out an honorable political work and we will surely succeed in this election".
The people met Fırat words with applause and chanted slogans. The party's election office was finally opened.
