As the elections near, hundreds of riot police and special teams have been sent to Şirnak by air.

It is reported that hundreds of police reinforcements arrived yesterday at the Şerafettin Elçi airport on the Cizre-İdil road. From the airport the police boarded buses and went with armoured vehicle escort to Şirnak.
