Police take 17 people into custody in Adana

Many people were taken into custody as the result of a new political police operation in Adana.

Within the scope of the investigation launched by Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on the allegation of "terrorist propaganda" being made through social media posts, 17 people were taken into custody this morning.

A new political police operation was launched targeting many addresses in the city in the morning hours. The doors of many houses were taken down by the police during the raids, and people’s belongings were distributed in the houses that were searched. After the searches, many people were detained.

Those taken into custody are being held in Adana Provincial Security Directorate.
