Nine women were taken into custody as a result of the political genocide operation carried out in Izmir.
Nine women, including Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) member Fadime Kocakaya, Aegean TUHAY-DER, Executive Director of the Aegean TUHAY-DER Association, Hediye Tekin, Zerga Öztürk, Zuhal Çelebi, Muteber Akgül and Saime Akın, have been taken into custody.
The women were taken to Çankaya TEM Branch after health checks. It has been reported that a 24-hour lawyer ban has been imposed on the detainees. It is estimated that women were detained for attending a women's meeting in the district of Ergani in Amed in 2014, according to information received from lawyers.
