Police attempted to kidnap Azad Dağ, older brother of HDP Amed MP, Dersim Dağ.
Azad Dağ (27), the older brother of the People's Democratic Party (HDP) Amed MP Dersim Dağ, was forcibly taken into custody on February 1 by civilian police officers.
At the bottom of the Maternity Hospital on the Urfa-Amed ring road, Dağ, who was approached by a Ford Ranger type vehicle while waiting for his sister Dersim, was told he was being taken into custody as a result of a warrant order. Dağ, who knew there was no warrant order on him, reacted to the situation.
Azad Dağ was forced into the car but he refused to enter. Dağ was then prevented from calling his lawyer.
"There was no warrant order on me - said Dağ - but they insisted there was. A grizzled police spoke on the phone several times."
Addressing those who are subjected to similar situations, Dağ said: "Never accept this situation. We need to denounce such situations."
Azad Dağ applied to the Amed Branch of the Human Rights Association (IHD).
