Political genocide operations protested in Amed

Amed Labor Democracy Platform protested the political genocide operations in Mardin.

Amed Labor Democracy Platform protested the detention of 11 people including Mardin Medical Chamber president Derya Etem and union members.

Representatives of civil society organizations attended the meeting held at Diyarbakır Medical Chamber.

DTO President Mehmet Serif Demir, recalling that it is the 71st anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on Human Rights, said that Turkey human rights record is worsening every passing more. Pointing out that his 11 colleagues have been detained unlawfully in Mardin, Demir added that this arrest is part of an intimidation tactic.

DISK union Regional Representative Mehmet Şirin Gürbüz also condemned the detention of his colleagues in Mardin and said that they have been prevented from doing their job, which is treating patients.

Gürbüz added that these detentions show once again the antidemocratic practices carried out in the country and demanded the immediate release of his colleagues.
