The support of politicians, intellectuals, artists and political observers from South Kurdistan for the campaign launched to remove the PKK from the EU list of terrorist organisations is increasing.
Political observer Felah Salih gave his support to the campaign and said that the PKK was founded as a result of the persecution carried out by the Turkish state in North Kurdistan and the genocidal policies against the Kurdish people. "When we look at the history of the PKK, we see an organisation that has defended human rights and nature since its foundation. The PKK has now become a movement that is recognized and accepted in the world. It should be approached accordingly. If we look at the PKK's struggle and the approach of the Turkish state, we clearly see who is a terrorist. The Turkish state is a state that terrorizes the Kurdish people. The PKK is not a terrorist organization, on the contrary, it is a movement fighting against terrorism."
The Turkish state should sit down with PKK representatives
Salih said that Turkey should sit down at the negotiation table with the PKK and added: "The PKK represents the Kurds. If there is peace and the PKK is removed from the list of terrorist organisations and the rights of the Kurdish people are guaranteed, peace and democracy are ensured in Turkey as well."
Salih continued: "It is the duty of all intellectuals and libertarian forces to remove the PKK from the list of terrorist organisations. More support should be given to the campaign launched to delist the PKK. In my opinion, this is more than a human duty, it is a moral duty. For this, everyone should play their part. Because delisting the PKK will also benefit the peoples of the region."
