If somebody had any doubt about what Prime Minister Erdoðan might have thought of the situation in Kurdistan and of the military operations, it would have been sufficient to listen to him speaking on the fringe of an electoral meeting in Malatya.
“A police station was raided and two policemen were slaughtered in Silopi. - the PM said - Is this the struggle for freedom? We will vindicate our policemen and soldiers".
And if the thought was not clear enough Erdoðan added "We will fight to keep them out from here till the end. What we are witnessing here is collusion. This is the kind of a game is being played" said the Prime Minister explicitly referring to the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party). "We will give our answer to them by bringing the AKP from the polls at elections on June 12".
The Prime Minister then added: "BDP MPs are now adopting a wrong and disturbing attitude towards our soldiers engaged in clashes with terrorists on the border and they are trying to show these terrorists as innocent people".
As for the clashes in Uludere where 12 PKK members lost their life between 13 and 14 May, Erdoðan said: "We are confronting terrorists intending to enter into our borders from South Iraq. And who knows which kind of actions they will stage tomorrow in our country when the terrorists happen to across the border. The mission of soldiers is to prevent this kind of attempts and to protect the border. They did their duty".
