Prisoner Adem Erden was violently injured by another prisoner following the complaint he made to Public Prosecutor of Bolu against the administrator and psychologist of Bolu F-Type Prison. Erden suffered a razor blade attack which injured him seriously on face and neck.

The reason for Erden’s complaint against prison administrator Cevat Berber and psychologist Candaþ Orhan Akdemir was the torture he had been exposed to in prison. 

Although Erden filed a complaint at various intervals since 20 September 2009 and stated that his life was in danger in prison, the Prosecutor of Bolu replied only on 17 January 2011 and instructed the prison administration to take necessary precautions. However, things got worse after this instruction which on the contrary increased the pressure on Eren. Prison administrator Cevat Berber had Eren injured by another prisoner who was exiled to Bolu prison on grounds of numerous attempts of murder. Eren received serious wounds on the face with a razor blade used by the assailant. Following a short treatment at hospital, Eren was again sent to the same prison.

While Adem Erden was later transferred to Kandýra F-Type Prison through the efforts given by IHD (Human Rights Association),neither prison administrator Berber nor other authorities have been subject to a judicial or administrative investigation.
