Prisoner on hunger strike: We will win

"This resistance will definitely win. Because we are right and take our strength from knowing we are right.”

Over 300 political prisoners are on hunger strike in jails in Turkey and Kurdistan demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

One of these prisoners is Umut Çamlıbel who has been on hunger strike in Kandıra F Type Prison for 90 days. During his weekly phone conversation with the family, Çamlıbel managed to give information about the hunger strike despite the interference of the prison administration. He said that they will fast until their demand is met.

'No matter the price ...'

Çamlıbel, whose voice was recorded by the family said that the prisoners continue their resistance with strong determination and will. Çamlıbel said that their morale is high. "Our friends know that our people will not accept isolation, as they never have. This resistance will definitely win. Because we are right and take our strength from knowing we are right.”

‘Everyone should join the resistance’

Çamlıbel added: ”All democratic, socialist circles have to be the voice of this resistance. This resistance must grow. Because our resistance is in defence of humanity. Everyone has to stand up for their dignity. We will continue our resistance until victory.”
