Prisoners on hunger strike arbitrarily deported

Retaliation measures are being taken by prison authorities against prisoners on hunger strike.

Some of the political prisoners who went on hunger strikes against the isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Urfa No. 2 T-Type Prison, were deported to other jails.

It has been learned that Kemal Yiğit, who started his indefinite hunger strike, on 5 January, and Nevzat Çapkın, who is in the 6th group of 10-day hunger strike, were transferred to the prisons of Trabzon and Rize.

The remaining 7 prisoners (2 women) in Urfa No. 2 T Type Prison and 5 prisoners in Urfa No. 1 T Type Prison have announced that they have started an indefinite hunger strike on 5 January.
