A post-mortem examination has found that Turkish public prosecutor Mehmet Selim Kiraz, who was taken hostage by 2 DHKC militants and subsequently died along with the militants in a police operation, was hit by ten bullets, not five, as President Erdoğan claimed on the night of the incident.
According to a news item in Zaman newspaper a post-mortem carried out at the Florence Nightingale hospital found ten bullets in the body of prosecutor Mehmet Selim Kiraz. The newspaper said three of these bullets were removed from the head, 6 from the chest and one from above the knee. These findings strengthen the suspicion that shots were fired at random in the room. The autopsy report said Mehmet Selim Kiraz had heart and breathing support until he was taken to the hospital, but despite all efforts had not shown signs of life. The report said all functions had stopped 29 minutes after the police operation, at 20.56.
