Prosecutor to extend detention period for HDP politicians

The lawyers noted that there was a "confidentiality" order regarding the investigation.

Lawyers of HDP members in custody said that the statements of politicians have not been taken yet and their detention period will be extended.

The lawyers were also prevented from meeting with their clients.

The police procedures involving the 20 HDP members who have been detained as a result of the political genocide operation at the weekend, are still continuing. The lawyers said the statements of the politicians have not been taken and said that their clients will be brought to Ankara Courthouse. Their detention period will be extended.

The lawyers noted that there was a "confidentiality" order regarding the investigation and that they would appeal the possible extension of the detention period. Lawyers will also try to meet with the investigating prosecutor.

The lawyers who went to the Provincial Police Department in the morning were prevented from meeting their clients.
