Kurds and their friends have been protesting in Kurdistan and all over the world for days against the international conspiracy that led to Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan’s abduction from Kenya and handover to Turkey on 15 February 1999.

Kurds took to the streets in Copenhagen to condemn the international conspiracy and demand freedom for Abdullah Öcalan who is held in total isolation in the Imrali Island Prison and has not been heard from for three years now, denied any form of contact with his lawyers and family members.

The march started from Synemollen Square with a minute of silence. Cüneyt Caniş, a lawyer of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, made a speech at the demonstration and stated that the solution to the Kurdish question is only possible with the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan.

The march took place on the route of the Turkish Consulate, the United Nations Building, the American Consulate and the French Consulate.

In front of the Turkish Consulate, Kek İbo Pirsus made a speech on behalf of the Kurdish Democratic Community Center, condemning the conspiracy and underlining that the struggle will continue until Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan is liberated. A statement on the conspiracy and the demands of the Kurdish people was read in front of the UN representation.
