Protest in Paris against Turkey’s invasion and genocide attacks in Kurdistan

Hundreds of people denounced the Turkish state’s invasion attacks in Kurdistan with a protest action in front of the US Consulate in Paris.

Protest actions against the Turkish state’s genocide attacks on Kurdistan continue in different cities and countries all around the world. Today, Kurdish people and their fellows took to the streets in Berlin and Paris in protest at the occupant Turkish state’s attacks against the Kurdish people and their lands in various parts of Kurdistan.

In Paris, hundreds of Kurdish citizens and their fellows participated in a protest action held in front of the US Consulate, answering the call of the Kurdish Women’s Movement in France (Tevgera Jinên Kurdistan a Fransa-TJK-F) and the French Democratic Kurdish Society (CDK-F).

The activists protested the invasion attacks targeting Kurdistan territories and displayed banners reading, “Les terroristes sont ceux qui massacrent le peuple Kurde” ("The terrorists are those who massacre the Kurdish people") and “PKK lutte pour l’humanité” (PKK fights for humanity).

Subsequent to a minute of silence for the martyrs of revolution, the activists wore white gowns formed as a shroud with bloody handprints on it and lied still on the ground in order to draw attention to the annihilation and denial attacks faced by the Kurds.

During the protest action, the activists read and handed over leaflets in French and frequently chanted slogans as “Freedom for Öcalan”, “Şehit namirin” (Martyrs are immortal) and “Bijî berxwadana gerîla” (Long live the guerrilla resistance).

The crowd, through statements, expressed that they gathered to protest all parties that remain silent against Turkey’s invasion and genocide, especially the international forces and the US. They stressed that the Kurdish people will response to the attacks till the end.

Many artists from Kurdish cultural association TEV-ÇAND also participated in the protest action. In front of the US Consulate, the crowd launched a march towards Trocadero Square and took a determined stance against the attempts of the police forces to block the march.

The action ended with the slogans protesting the invasion and genocidal attacks as the activists left the banners and shround-like white sheets on the floor.
