Protestors in Adana attacked by police

Following the brutal police attack targeting people in Gezi Park in Taksim, thousands who took to the streets in the southern province of Adana have also been attacked by police. Protestors are reportedly been subject to severe intervention.

People across the country, including many districts of Istanbul, have taken to the streets in the evening to protest the police intervention in Gezi Park in which reportedly a number of people, including many children and elders, have been wounded. Journalists and doctors are not allowed to enter the park since the beginning of the intervention. Tweeters report that metro stations have been closed and a number of children were wounded.Turkish Medical Association called on health professionals to attend Taksim to help the injured.

Thousands from many districts of Istanbul are marching towards Taksim Square which has been surrounded by thousands of policemen. All ways to the square have been blockaded.

Protestors in Mecidiyeköy have also been intervened by police with intense tear gas and pressure water.
