Protest demonstrations began in Diyarbakýr before the election meeting by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the city.
Burning tires in Baglar district, Erdogan’s incoming route, and closing the ways to traffic with burning tires and petrol bombs, demonstrators chanted slogans “PKK people are here”. Demonstrations continue in neighborhoods where a large number of armored police vehicles keeps coming in.
Police found a hand-made bomb set-up in a plastic box. The box was taken to the Security Office for investigation.
On the other hand, people coming from Mardin and its districts to Diyarbakýr for the meeting was blocked by a crowd which put up a barricade in Cýnar.
