A bomb has been left in city center of Yüksekova/Hakkari today at morning hours following the leaflet distribution the other day by a group calling themselves "Mezit" who pronounced “going back to work on Monday”. While the act was prevented when shopkeepers realized the case, the bomber escaped stabbing a shopkeeper.

A group calling themselves "Mezit" distributed leaflets the day before in Yüksekova to make a massacre call, which was followed by a bomb put in city center in early morning hours by an unidentified actor.

The perpetrator put the bomb before Güven Jewelry Store in Freedom Square and tried to escape when realized by the store’s owner Oðuz Karagöz who was stabbed by the bomber while trying to hinder his escape. The bomber escaped while Karagöz has been taken to hospital for treatment.

Bomb disposal teams at the scene continue their work to dispose the bomb.
