The PYD representatives in Europe visited hunger strikers in Strasbourg on their 106th day of hunger strike against the isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The 14 Kurdish activists on hunger strike demanding the end of isolation against Öcalan have left the 106th day of fast.
A delegation of PYD representatives from Europe visited the 14 Kurdish activists. The delegation included PYD European representatives Şiyar Ali, Ster Dağ, Abdülselam Mustafa and Axin Gulo and Zozan Derik from the PYD Women's Commission.
Şiyar Ali said that the visit was very important and meaningful for them. He commended the SDF for the victory on ISIS and reminded that Kurds always fight for freedom and free life.
Stressing that the resistance led by Leyla Güven embodies the free Kurdish women's leadership role, Şiyar Ali said: “All of our people are carrying out a great resistance. We are determined to live a free life with a free leadership. Breaking isolation is one of the most important steps to achieve this goal. We know that this war will end once isolation ends. We call once again on all people to be the voice of the hunger strikers.”
Speaking on behalf of the hunger strikers, KCDK-E co-chair Yüksel Koç expressed his satisfaction with the visit and said that the Kurdish people are going through a historical process.
Koç added: “I greet our fighters and our people, who fight a historical battle against the darkest mercenaries of history, DAESH. I am proud of taking part in this resistance movement initiated by our comrade Leyla Güven. Our resistance will continue until the isolation on the Kurdish People's Leader is lifted. The most important achievement for us is the endorsement of our people who assumed this action.”
Our struggle will continue
Emphasizing that the Kurdish people achieved a great success in the local elections despite the fascist pressures of the Turkish state, Yüksel Koç said they would break the isolation on the Kurdish People's Leader with the resistance they are carrying out.
