The attempt by Turkish racists to lynch a Kurdish family who returned to their home in the town of Heusden-Zolder after attending the Newroz event held in Leuven on 24 March, was protested in Aachen.

At the rally, declarations of condemnation of the attack and support for the Kurdish people were read by Democratic Union Party PYD representative Abdurrahman Dêrikî.

The declarations exposed the policies of the Turkish state based on racism, fascism and genocide against the Kurds in Turkey and outside of Turkey.
