Reception for Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê in Livorno

A reception took place in the Italian city of Livorno in solidarity with Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê.

Kurdish Red Crescent Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê held a reception in the city of Livistanê, Livorno, in Italy.

A brief presentation on the four-year activities of Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê was given at the reception, attended by Kurds and friends.

The reception was also attended by the mayor of Livorno, representatives of migrants’ associations, the Kurdish Information Bureau (UIKI) and the Kurdistan Committee.

Italian well known militant caricaturist, Zero Calcare, joined the reception in solidarity and his drawings dedicated to Rojava received great appreciation. The proceeds from the book sold were donated to Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê.

Hundreds of people joined the reception which was also attended by PYD spokesman Ibrahim Muslim, and Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê Germany representative Rifat Akter.

In addition to representatives of the Italian union movement, Palestine-Italy spokesperson and a representative of the Kurdistan Committees all made speeches in support of the humanitarian aid organisation.

All speakers commended the hunger strike led by Leyla Güven and urged the relevant institutions to act immediately.

The reception was also the occasion to launch a new project. Alican Yildiz, co-chair of Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê, said that they will start a clinic in Shehba to serve the people of Afrin who were forced to leave their homes after the Turkish occupation.
