The release of Gever Municipality co-mayor Remziye Yaşar, which had been ruled by Hakkari 1st High Criminal Court, was stopped by an appeal hearing.

After the hearing at Hakkari 1st Ağrı Criminal Court, Gever Municipality co-mayor Remziye Yaşar, who was released on bail, ruled to overturn the release decision with an appeal hearing.

The public prosecutor's office appealed the bail sentence to 2nd Agri Criminal Court, a higher court. The court board, which gathered in the middle of the night, rejected the decision to release Yaşar by accepting the objection made by the prosecutor's office.

Stating that the practice is illegal, Yaşar’s lawyer, Güzel Karataş, said that they would appeal the objection. "This decision is a great shame. This is a political decision and we will appeal it."
