Remzi Kartal: The Turkish state is desperate

KONGRA-GEL Co-chair Remzi Kartal said the Turkish state, experiencing a financial crisis as a result of the Kurdish Freedom Movement’s struggle, is in great desperation.

Gothenburg Democratic Kurdish Society Center held a memorial for HPG Commander Atakan Mahir and Yazidi Coordination Member Zeki Şengali who lost their lives in Turkish state attacks.

SENGALI AND MAHIR COMMEMORATED

Following a minute’s silence for the martyrs of the revolution, Kartal gave a speech about the developments in Turkey and Kurdistan.

Kartal said Şengali and Mahir who lost their lives in Turkish state attacks were freedom fighters with ideological, philosophical and military experience, and that they bow with respect in front of their memory.

Kartal pointed out that the Turkish state, in a bind as a result of the Kurdish Freedom Movement’s struggle and experiencing a deep financial crisis, has become more aggressive: “The state is in a very desperate situation. This financial crisis is a result of their war against us for the last three years in particular.”

“OUR REAL ISSUE IS WITH THE SYSTEM”

Kartal said their concept doesn’t include tearing down or destroying the Turkish state, and added that the Kurdish Freedom Movement has no issue with individuals, that the real issue is with the system. “So, can the concept implemented by this system be destroyed?” asked Kartal and continued:

“Yes, it can. That is why our struggle will get stronger by the minute, in an extensive manner, like in Rojava. We will be engaged in efforts to change the systems in Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria with all that we have until August 15 next year. We must strive to stop the aid the Turkish state receives from Europe too. We will be working to inform the peoples of Europe in this matter.”

Kartal said the Kurdish Freedom Movement has disrupted the Turkish state’s plans in Idlib and left them in a bind, adding that soon Turkey will be pushed out of Afrin and Syria in general along with the ISIS-remnant gangs.

Kartal said Kurdistan people in the diaspora have a great task on their shoulders to expose the Turkish state and to ensure the freedom of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

“Abroad, if we worked for one hour before, we must now work for two. If we worked for two hours, we must now work for four. Everybody must participate in this struggle,” said Kartal and called on Kurdistanis living abroad to hold on tighter to the struggle.

A video was screened in the event to commemorate the lives and struggles of Mahir and Şengali.
