Retired Gen. Veli Küçük gets life sentence in Ergenekon trial - New

Twenty one people have been released so far in the Ergenekon trial. The court continues to read its verdict:

Retired General Veli Küçük gets life sentence.

So far, Lt. Gen. İsmail Hakkı Pekin sentenced to 7 years six months imprisonment, former police chief Adil Serdar Saçan sentenced to 14 years six months, vice Adm. Mehmet Otuzbiroğlu sentenced to 20 years six months in prison.

Retired Col. Arif Doğan is sentenced to 32 years while Osman Yıldırım, among the suspects of the 2007 Council of State attack, is sentenced to 8 years 9 months.

Ali Yasak, linked to some of the people involved in the so called 1996 Susurluk incident, sentenced to six years three months in prison. Alleged mafia boss Semih Tufan Gülaltay handed down a 12 years prison sentence.
