Right-wing candidate wins presidential elections in Uruguay

Right-wing candidate wins presidential elections in Uruguay for a handful of votes more than left candidate Martinez.

The Frente Amplio candidate to the Uruguayan presidency, Daniel Martinez, announced on that he accepts the results of the second round of the elections, thus, conceding the victory to right-wing candidate Luis Lacalle Pou.

Martinez said: "We will continue to defend democracy with more force than ever."

The Frente Amplio lost the election in the second round for a handful of votes to the right-wing Partido Nacional Party.
