The Frente Amplio candidate to the Uruguayan presidency, Daniel Martinez, announced on that he accepts the results of the second round of the elections, thus, conceding the victory to right-wing candidate Luis Lacalle Pou.
Martinez said: "We will continue to defend democracy with more force than ever."
The Frente Amplio lost the election in the second round for a handful of votes to the right-wing Partido Nacional Party.
