Xalid İsa, Democratic Autonomy Administration’s Representative to France who arrived in Moscow after the invitation of the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, said “We represent all of the colors in Syria. Negotiations that exclude us will not succeed.”
Xalid İsa spoke to ANF before the meeting in Russia and said that PYD Co-chair Asya Abdullah, Kobanê Canton Co-president Enver Muslim and he himself were invited to Russia but Abdullah and Muslim could not arrive yet because the invitations reached them late and problems arose in official procedure, but would participate in the following meetings.
İsa said Abdusselam Ali, the PYD Representative to Russia, and he himself would represent the Rojava administration, adding: “Our project is clear. We shared our project in previous Astana meetings and other platforms. We will continue to share it in the meetings here.”
"WE REPRESENT ALL OF THE DYNAMICS IN SYRIA"
Regarding the other groups that participate in the meeting, İsa said that several people were invited while the PYD is the only organized power and represents not only Kurdish people but all ethnic, religious and cultural groups in Syria. He emphasized that negotiations that exclude them will not succeed.
"WE WERE NOT IN ASTANA BECAUSE WE SIDE WITH NEITHER THE REGIME OR THE GANGS"
Evaluating the recent meeting in Astana, İsa said it was a gathering of gang leaders and the regime, and lacked democratic opposition groups. İsa said this is why the meeting failed, and described the Turkish state as the leader of the gang groups there. He pointed out that they were the only group representing democratic opposition, and were not in Astana because they side with neither the regime nor the gangs.
"RUSSIA SHOULD PLAY ITS ROLE FOR PEACE IN SYRIA"
İsa remarked that they are ready to meet and cooperate with anyone that desires a peaceful and democratic Syria, and emphasized that as one of the five permanent members of the UN, Russia should play its role for peace in Syria.
"INTERNATIONAL POWERS SHOULD TAKE A STANCE AGAINST TURKISH OCCUPATION"
Xalid İsa emphasized the importance of struggle against the Turkish occupation in order to build a democratic Syria, invited Kurdish people to fight against AKP fascism, and called upon international powers to take a stance against the Turkish state’s occupation of Rojava and Syria.
