The General Coordination of Rojava Cantons has issued a statement condemning the attack of the Turkish army in Diyadin district of Ağrı province in Bakurê (North) Kurdistan.
The General Coordination of the Executive Assemblies of Cizîr, Kobanê and Efrîn Cantons strongly condemned the Diyadin attack that claimed the lives of a guerrilla and a member of the HDP on 11 April.
The statement of the Coordination recalled that former co-chair of HDP Diyadin branch Cezmi Budak was killed and many others were wounded after the Turkish troops opened fire on defenseless civilians while they were planting saplings.
“We, the General Coordination of Rojava Cantons strongly condemn the attack of the Turkish regime on Kurdish civilians and politicians who held nothing other than saplings in their hands”, said the statement, commemorating Cezmi Budak as a martyr of democracy and freedom.
Vowing to remain loyal to Budak's memory and to his struggle for democratic administration and free Kurdistan, the General Coordination of Rojava Cantons offered condolences to the Budak family and to the people of Kurdistan, also wishing a quick recovery to those wounded in the attack.
