A delegation of academics from Rojava visited the Saladin University in Sulaymaniyah on Tuesday. The delegation was met by Rıza Hesen Hisên, the rector of the university.

During the visit, the situation of the universities in North and East Syria and the education system were discussed and it was underlined that the universities in the region were the product of the revolution for freedom carried out in Northern Syria and Rojava. The universities, said the members of the delegation, were established thanks to great effort and determination.

Rojava delegates said that they wanted to benefit from the experiences of universities in South Kurdistan.

The rector of Saladin University Rıza Hesen Hisên said: "Rojava universities as well as those of Northern and Eastern Syria are our universities. We are ready to support them with all our resources". 

At the end of the visit, the delegation from Rojava, Kobanê and Afrin universities presented the rector with a plaque with symbols of the universities.

After the meeting, the delegation toured the university and then attended a seminar.
