Demonstrations continued to take place in a number of central cities on Monday, mainly in Istanbul, in protest against the police violence against protestors since the brutal intervention in Gezi Park Saturday evening.

Thousands of people were attacked by police, with rubber bullet and pressure water, as well as intense tear gas, as they marched towards Taksim Square.
