SDF General Command called on the civilians in Raqqa to stay away from ISIS positions for their safety as clashes heavy fighting continues in all intensity.
In a statement about the ongoing Raqqa campaign, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) General Command said: “The operation to liberate Raqqa continues successfully in the scope of the planning we set forth. In order to end the terror and secure the safety of civilians in the city, our forces are conducting military operations in a careful and attentive manner. The gangs are using the civilians in the city as shields.
Heavy blows are being delivered to the gangs as a result of the coordination between the US-led international coalition forces and the SDF fighters in the battlefield.
We extend our thanks to the people of Raqqa that support our forces, and we call on them to stay away from the positions of the gangs.”
In the meantime, YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces continue their advance in ISIS stronghold Raqqa as the operation to liberate the city continues unabated in its 17th day.
SDF fighters continue advancing amid ongoing fighting that intensifies in Hitîn and Qadisiya neighborhoods on the western front of the city.
The ISIS gangs resort to desperate use of heavy weaponry, missiles and bomb-laden cars in a bid to hinder SDF fighters who however continue their advance despite attacks.
