Self-defense in mother-tongue rejected by the Court

The 29th hearing of the trial against 152 Kurdish politicians and human rights activists has once again ended in a Kurdish defense crisis yesterday. The trial at Diyarbakýr 6th High Criminal Court was adjourned to 26 December.

All KCK detainees in Diyarbakýr, Siirt, Midyat and Bingöl prisons, who were taken to court in separate groups so far, have been brought to the trial all together this time. The trial was also attended by BDP deputies and Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaþ.

While defendants were accused on the basis of testimonies by a secret witness, the court claimed that some of the detainees received training at the camps of KCK which allegedly ruled BDP municipalities and DTK (Democratic Society Congress) organization.

The petitions of all defendants were returned by the court on the grounds of being written in Kurdish language.
