Senator Rhiannon: “There should be meetings with Öcalan”

The KNK and DKTM representatives met with Senator Lee Rhiannon in Sydney. Rhiannon said, “There should be meetings with Öcalan” and condemned the attacks on Efrîn.

KNK (Kurdistan National Congress) Sydney Spokesperson Ismet Taştan and the Democratic Kurdish Society Center (DKTM) visited New South Wales Senator Lee Rhiannon’s private office. KNK and DKTM representatives submitted files on the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the Turkish state’s attacks on Efrîn.

“NOBODY SHOULD BE SILENT”

Rhiannon said the following in the meeting: “I will take this issue to my own Census agenda and I will speak in the Federal Parliament next Tuesday. Isolation is a crime against humanity, nobody should defend isolation, or stay silent in the face of it. His family and lawyers should be allowed to meet with Mr. Öcalan at once.”

“WESTERN COUNTRIES MUST SEE”

Senator Lee Rhiannon also said the Turkish state’s attacks on Efrîn are unacceptable and added: “Today Rojava is fighting for humanity, and the Western countries must see this.”
