The Platform of Freedom for Journalists (GÖP), bringing 94 trade bodies together, launched a campaign to “send postcards” to the journalists in prison ahead of the coming feast of sacrifice.

European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) member journalist unions also called on the journalists in their countries to support to the campaign.

GÖP member Journalists Union of Turkey (TGS) also called on member and nonmember press laborers, unions of laborers and civil servants, civil society organizations and citizens to “remember the risky struggle undertaken by arrested journalists for freedom of the press and expression”.

Publishing the names, work and prison addresses of 66 arrested and convicted journalists, TGS stated that; “You can support the struggle given by our arrested colleagues for the right of the people to know the truths”.

The Union also brought forward some proposals to write on postcards;
