At least seven people have been taken into custody by police following simultaneous house raids in the western province of Kocaeli early Tuesday morning.

Detainees are accused of joining the Gezi protests in the city.

On the other hand, 13 people have been remanded in custody in İzmir for allegedly “damaging public property and workplaces”, “provoking people” and “opposing to police officers on duty” during the Gezi protests in the city.

Eight others have been remanded in custody in Istanbul on the grounds of committing the same crimes during the protests.
